How old do I need to be to join the gym?
The minimum age to join at Global Fitness is 14 years, however, children over 12 years of age can train with parental supervision.

What should I wear when I come to the gym?
Sportswear and Trainers should be worn whenever you are exercising in the gym or doing group fitness classes. Global Fitness is known for its relaxed, non-intimidating environment so there is no need to go out and buy the latest lycra outfit. Wear whatever you are comfortable in.

Do I need to be fit to start?
No, there are plenty of other beginners and people of all different shapes, sizes and fitness levels. The equipment at Global Fitness can be adjusted to whichever workload you desire and the group fitness classes are suitable for all fitness and skill levels.

What if I don’t know how to use the equipment?
Most of the membership options that Global Fitness offers include an induction session with the personal trainers to make you familiar with the equipment and how to exercise properly.

What do I need to bring with me when I come in to train?
No-one wants to use a machine that’s all sweaty from the person before, so its important to bring a towel with you for when you train. It might also pay to bring another towel if you plan to shower afterwards, although there is towel hireage available for a nominal fee. You may find it easiest to pre-pack a ‘gym bag’ with your towel(s), gym clothes, training shoes and a drink bottle.

Who can I ask if I have trouble using the equipment?
The personal trainers should be available to answer any questions you may have at most times of the day, however, if they are unavailable then the reception and floor staff will be able to answer any queries you may have. No-one expects you to be an expert at using the equipment, so feel free to ask as many questions as you wish.

Is there somewhere safe that I can leave my valuables while I train?
Yes, lockers are available in both the men’s and women’s changing rooms at no charge. Simply ask at reception for a padlock and key.

I hear that you have a crèche. How does it work?
The crèche is open from 9am until 2pm Monday - Friday, and from 9am until 12pm on Saturday. More details are available from the crèche staff on (07) 5758727.
